During an interview on Fox News yesterday, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) explained why he wants to bomb Iran, a plan that the network’s Arthel Neville called “dangerous” and “volatile,” RawStory reported.

Gohmert told Neville that negotiations with Iran were already a failure because President Obama was “already allowing them to go full-blown nuclear.”

“You step up the sanctions full-blown, and I think that it’s time to look at a plan to go in and bomb them,” Gohmert said.

Neville then asked the representative if the US did bomb Iran, did he think Russia would “stand by and let that happen.”

“I don’t think Russia is in a position to do anything,” Gohmert answered. “They’re bogged down too many places.”

“You really don’t think — I mean, that’s a volatile option there,” Neville said, dumbfounded at Gohmert’s remarks. “To go in and bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities, and you really believe that Russia will stop and say, ‘Okay, fine, go for it.’ I mean, that’s a dangerous….”
