It’s mostly clueless white conservatives who have been speaking nonsense about the church shootings in Charleston, South Carolina. Then there’s Fox News contributor Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson. Peterson is a black man, but he obviously does not speak for the liberal progressive black community. He insisted that racism no longer exists in America. We wish this was only a sick joke.
“[Obama] implied that racism is still an issue in America today for black people from white folks, when it’s absolutely not true,” said Peterson. “You have the Department of Justice and others calling it a hate crime even before they knew, before the dust settled, they called it a hate crime, which is encouraging or verifying for a lot of angry black people that racism is a problem.”
Peterson, in the same breath, said racism in America is dead but acknowledged that the Charleston shooting was a hate crime. The insanity here is unreal.
