A police chief in Texas is under investigation for the alleged sexual harassment of six underage girls, reported RawStory. Maypearl Police Chief Kevin Coffey has been accused of a laundry list of offenses.
The Texas Rangers, the state attorney general, and the Ellis County D.A.’s office are investigating Coffey for stalking, harassing, online solicitation of a minor, misuse of official information, official oppression, and tampering with evidence. One of Coffey’s accusers said Coffey sent her distrubing Facebook messages when she was 14-years-old.
The victim, now 16, said Coffey messaged: “I’ll cuff u and put u on the hood again and smack that *ss lol” and that he “had a nice spot picked out to stop you and everything lol.” The victim’s family has known about the harassment for some time but never reported it for fear of retaliation from the chief. Coffey also sent the young girl a picture of handcuffs and said “one of the days, hahaha.”
Investigators are dealing with a very weird and disturbed man in Coffey. Five other young women have come forward and said Coffey harassed them online. Authorities have searched his home and office for any other evidence of illegal activity.
