Who didn’t see this coming? Far-right, gun nut pedophile Ted Nugent has stepped up to defend Walter Palmer, the Minnesota dentist who killed Cecil the Lion, reported Addicting Info. Nugent said everything about Cecil the Lion is a lie. He and Palmer are a match made in hell.
Nugent saw an opportunity to chime in on the tragedy and took it. He posted a comment on Facebook that read, “the whole story is a lie. It was a wild lion from a ‘park’ where hunting is legal & ESSENTIAL beyond park borders. all animals reproduce every year & would run out of room/food to live w/o hunting. I will write a full piece on the joke asap. God are people stupid.”
Nugent used the “hunting is vital to conservation” argument to justify Palmer’s illegal hunt of an animal treasured by the locals. However, the fact that Palmer “took” the animal illegally weakens that argument and discredits pro-hunting conservationists. It wasn’t enough to deter Nugent from completely disregarding the facts and saying the entire story is false, though. Nugent is coming off as a conspiracy theorist.
Nugent promised to write a “full piece” about Palmer. That should be terrible. He ignored that fact that Palmer’s guides have already been to court and charged with their crimes. Palmer is still in hiding as the U.S. government and Zimbabwe authorities are trying to contact him. Palmer faces 15 years in prison if convicted. He can’t hide forever.
