It’s not often that political candidates get the honor of having a best-selling author come up with a campaign slogan for them. GOP front-runner (for the moment) Donald Trump has had three created for him by one of the greatest writers of all time, Stephen King – but one suspects the Trumpster won’t find them all that flattering.

Stephen King, who started out writing pulp horror novels in the 1970s, became a serious literary figure on a par with Faulkner and Steinbeck with the publication of classics such as The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption. Many of his best-sellers have become films, and he has even had a few on-screen cameo appearances. Recently, King decided that Trump’s campaign needed a few catchy, yet honest slogans that would tell the voting public what he’s all about. “If you’re white, you’re all right – any other hue, I don’t trust you” was sent out to his followers on Twitter earlier this week. The slogan references the comments that got Trump fired from NBC, characterizing Mexican immigrants as drug pushers and “rapists.” Apparently, Trump fails to appreciate that no Republican has ever won office without Latino support.

But that wasn’t the first time King made such a contribution to the Trump campaign.  Back in July, he tweeted: “Trump! The Raging Id of the Republican Party!” The next day, King came up with one he thought would be good for a bumper sticker: “I’m One of Trump’s Chumps!” To his followers on Twitter, he added, “Jesus, how do I come up with these? Just lucky, I guess.”

Well, Stephen King – if you ever get a chance to read this, here is some more grist for your mill. During last night’s debates, Donald Trump was called out by moderator Megan Kelly over his opinion of women.  Ms. Kelly said:

You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs,’  ‘dogs,’ ‘slobs,’ and ‘disgusting animals’…your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks…you once told a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice [that] it would be a pretty picture to see her on her  knees.

How about it, Mr. King? You wanna take that and run with it? We’d love to see what you come up with.
