Christian, family value man Josh Duggar, from TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting fame, and of course admitted child molester, turns out to also be a man who enjoys his extra-marital affairs. Unfortunately for Duggar his secret was revealed today after the Ashley Madison marital affair website was hacked, and his name and account information were publicly released.
Writer Ashley Feinberg with Gawker.com has written a comprehensive story on this story titled Family Values Activist Josh Duggar Had a Paid Ashley Madison Account. Ms. Feinberg explains that in 2013 Josh Duggar became the executive director of the Family Research Council, a conservative lobbying group which seeks “to champion marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue, and the wellspring of society.” In May 2015, he was forced to resign from this group after it was revealed that he had molested five young girls (four of whom were his own sisters) beginning in 2002.
When the accusations of his child molestations became public, Duggar wrote that the actions were a youthful indiscretion, and that he was cured of his deviant issues by his renewed faith in Christ and God. He wrote on his Facebook page the following:
Twelve years ago, as a young teenager I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life. I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.
It now seems that Duggar wasn’t being truthful, and he wished to continue his non-family-value, sexual experiences. Information released today shows that Duggar (or someone posing as him) opened an account with the extramarital affair web site Ashley Madison under the name of Joshua J. Duggar, with a billing address that matches the home in Fayetteville, Arkansas owned by his grandmother Mary. This person paid $986.76 for two different monthly Ashley Madison subscriptions from February of 2013 through May of 2015.
According to the information released, Duggar was paying Ashley Madison to find him one or more extramarital partners with the following characteristics and sexual enjoyments:
