Last week, following the tragic on-air shooting of a TV news reporter and her cameraman, George Zimmerman tweeted out a quote about gun violence from President Obama where he referred to the president as an “ignorant baboon.” It should also be noted that Zimmerman’s Twitter icon is a Confederate Flag, and Zimmerman recently teamed up with a South Florida gun store to sell Confederate Flag pins in order to support the store’s Muslim-Free policy.
Zimmerman continued to make an ass out of himself on Twitter by addressing no one in particular saying “we all know how it ended for the last moron that hit me…Give it a whirl, cupcake.”
Obviously, Zimmerman is referring to the child that he murdered, Trayvon Martin. To drive the point home, Zimmerman then tweeted out this picture to show us all how well he’s living.
When I first saw that picture, I had a visceral reaction and even now, all I can think when I see it is that George Zimmerman is a total piece of shit. A complete waste of a human being, and a true psychopath because he clearly has no remorse whatsoever for killing a child or from beating the hell out of his girlfriend. George Zimmerman took another human being’s life because he is a coward and he was scared of a child. He’s been accused several times of beating up women because he is a coward. He’s a racist, bigoted, misogynistic piece of human garbage.
And that brings me back to the original point – George Zimmerman is the base of the Republican Party – the kind of people that are aroused at the thought of Donald Trump becoming President of the United States. Those are the people that are coming out of the woodwork waving the GOP banner in one hand and a Confederate Flag in the other. People like George Zimmerman no longer have to hide the fact that they are racist cowards because Donald Trump and the rest of the Republican field of candidates have made those ideals both mainstream and acceptable for members of the Republican Party.
That’s why the Republicans are in trouble right now. Sure, they’ll gain the votes of ignorant savages like George Zimmerman, but moderates will completely abandon the Party, and that’s the greatest thing we could hope for. As long as the GOP continues to pander to morons like George Zimmerman, they’ll continue on their path to obscurity.
