Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin of Oregon received praise yesterday for declaring he would not name the Umpqua shooter to ensure he receives no posthumous credit for the tragedy. However, shortly after the Newtown shootings, Hanlin sent a strongly-worded letter to Vice President Joe Biden stating that he would oppose any new gun control laws that might be  passed in the wake of the Newtown tragedy. He insisted that politicians were simply using the tragedy to push a political agenda.

Pro-gun Americans like Hanlin stand behind the 2nd Amendment with the delusional pretense that the US government is going to launch a full-scale war on the citizens. For that, he’s just another ammosexual.
