During the Republican debate, Carly Fiorina tried to argue that President Obama’s term in office has been “demonstrably bad for women.” She went as far as to say that “92 percent of the jobs lost during Barack Obama’s first term belonged to women.”
Fact-checkers were fast to call Fiorina on the lies. After the debate, however, Fiorina maintained that her facts were sound, she refused to admit that she was wrong.
Fiorina even went so far as to publish an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal that continued to claim that 92% of the jobs lost belonged to women.
It now appears that Fiorina is finally ready to admit that she got it wrong, according to MSNBC:
Carly Fiorina acknowledged Sunday that one of the facts she used to criticize President Obama during the third GOP presidential debate last week was misleading, after fact-checkers called her out.“In this particular case, the fact-checkers are correct,” Fiorina said on ABC’s “This Week.” Fiorina had said that 92% of the jobs lost during Obama’s first term were held by women.
