In the face of Marco Rubio’s failing campaign, rumors began to swirl that Rubio staffers were telling others to get out while they can as the end of his campaign is nigh. Reports on CNN said that staffers felt Rubio had no chance in his home state and advised the candidate to not stay in the race and see himself humiliated with a Florida loss.
Rubio’s communication director appeared on CNN with Wolf Blitzer to address these rumors and fight for his candidate’s legitimacy. Spokesman Alex Conant said that the reports were completely false. Conant also criticized CNN for airing the report, calling it “fiction” and a disservice to voters.
“Her sources, whatever they are, have no idea what the internal operations of the campaign are because if she did, she would know that Marco feels confident about Florida.”
While everyone is well aware by now that Marco Rubio’s campaign is doomed, the candidate and his staffers must now try to salvage his dignity the best that they can. It’s just about time for little Rubio to pack it in and admit defeat. We owe him a small token of gratitude for his efforts to take down Trump, but now his presence is helping rather than hindering the hateful candidate.
Watch.
