General Electric and president Barack Obama have had strong ties for Obama’s entire political career, but now it has been revealed that the cozy relationship has even bled deeply into the SEC.
The Associated Press has reported that the current SEC chairwoman, hand picked by president Obama, had GE as a client during her time as a private lawyer which is what makes what the SEC has conspired with GE to do that much more nefarious.
Bernie Sanders and other politicians and environmental groups have spoken strongly against GE, demanding that they get to work immediately on removing the pollutants that the company poured into the Hudson river.
Rather than do so, GE made plans to cut off their current Hudson bay dredging while its shareholders filed a resolution to compel the company to produce a report showing the consequences of not continuing to remove the pollutants from the water.
The SEC ruled in favor of GE management, putting an end to the resolution put forth by shareholders.
Since GE’s decision to halt the dredging, environmental groups have discovered that there are far more pollutants in the Hudson river than initially anticipated. These groups are now pushing to have GE restart its river dredging program to clean up the mess they’ve made.
In response to this new discovery, GE executives issued a statement saying that they have done more than enough to make up for their environmental impact.
“GE completed one of the largest and most complex environmental dredging projects ever performed in the United States.”
“GE has met 100 percent of its obligations to EPA and EPA has concluded that no additional dredging is necessary because the project is achieving the agency’s goals of protecting human health and the environment.”
What is clear is that GE and corporations like it are being enabled, sheltered, and bolstered by corrupt government entities created and controlled by president Obama. The system is corrupt from the inside, out, and this instance perfectly illustrates why our country needs a drastic change in the way it operates.
