After making his rounds in the corporate media and late-night Tv circuit, Bill Nye has found a new home in growing media company Netflix.
Set to launch in Spring of 2017, Nye and Netflix are teaming up for a talk show to be titled, “Bill Nye Saves the World.” The show will focus on scientific topics – no surprise there – but unlike his famous kid’s show “Bill Nye the Science Guy,” many of Nye’s topics will take on a distinctly political element.
According to Variety, the show intends to debunk scientific myths and directly contradict false statements made by politicians and religious leaders.
Said Nye:
“Today, I’m excited to be working with Netflix on a new show, where we’ll discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods and climate change. With the right science and good writing, we’ll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we’ll change the world a little.”
Only good things can come from more Nye in the public eye.
