Apparently Donald “I’m not a politician” Trump is no fan of anything that is too related to politics – even climate science.

According to sources close to the President-elect, a Trump administration will likely bar NASA from engaging in its vital climate change research, putting a stop to the necessary research needed to stave off the end of humanity.

Instead, sources say, NASA will be focused on more space-ward ventures, though we will be surprised if Trump gives any meaningful portions of the budget for that goal.

Bob Walker, who is serving as the chair of the NASA transition team, apparently doesn’t believe in climate change and has previously called the monitoring by NASA “politically correct environmental monitoring.”

Walker also believes that half of the world’s climate scientists still do not believe in climate change, indicating that the science is far from settled.

The President-elect made it clear during the primaries that he believed climate change to be a myth perpetrated by the Chinese. Since then he has walked back his statements to some degree, but still won’t go against party lines on this vital topic.

During an interview with the New York Times on Tuesday, Trump said that felt climate change may have been in part caused by human interference, though he gave very little confidence to the statement.

Trump has also indicated that he plans to withdraw from the Paris agreement, a global agreement to reduce carbon emissions worldwide.

We know already that Trump’s beliefs can change day by day, depending on who is whispering in his ear. With Walker by his side, along with the rest of the science-denying Republican party, we can rest assured knowing that Donald Trump won’t lift a finger for climate research or investments into our environmental future.

The only hope is that Trump actually does invest heavily in NASA and we get the hell off of this planet as soon as possible.
