If you head to your favorite corporate news source, you will likely still see many postmortem pieces about how James Comey, the Russians, Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein, the environment, polar bears, the number 7, the color purple, and Grimace, the McDonalds mascot, are all to blame in one way or another for the situation we are now in.

But the truth is that when it comes to why Clinton lost, the only ones to blame are the DNC and Clinton campaign who consistently ignored the advice of their on-the-ground staffers in favor of sending incriminating emails which were later exposed.

Sure, the idea that Russians might have been the ones responsible for the Podesta leaks is bad – but as the old saying goes – if they had nothing to hide, they would have had nothing to fear.

As “America’s Lawyer” host Mike Papantonio reflected this week,

“Clinton lost the election, in part, because of John Podesta’s idiocy. If Podesta hadn’t been such an idiot, and if Clinton hadn’t had him in such an important position, this might not have happened. And it’s something that we have to live with, unfortunately.”

Now that Trump has official wont he electoral college, we likely won’t be hearing much more about fake news or the Russians in corporate media – the narrative served its purpose and it won’t make them money anymore.

Nevertheless, we must continue to correct the narrative and remind the Democratic party that they alone are responsible for their own loss. They must take a close look inside the party, throw a lot out, replace much more, and start anew if we ever want to win an election again.

It’s time to get serious, and it’s time to stop the finger-pointing.
