Senators Propose Bill That Would Force Transparency on FISC

A handful of senators, in a bipartisan effort, introduced a bill that would force the Attorney General “to declassify significant Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) opinions.” If signed into law, the bill will dissolve the “secret law” that allows the FISC to keep how it interprets law under wraps. Sens. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Mike Lee (R-Utah),  Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Dean Heller (R-Nev.), Mark Begich (D-AR), Al Franken (D-Minn.), Jon Tester (D-Mont.), and Ron Wyden, (D-OR) introduced the bill with the ultimate goal of keeping Americans informed about important FISC court opinions, or rather, how the court interprets the law....

Government Abuse of Power on Municipal and County Levels Too

The gross misuse of government power has been scattered across the headlines lately in the wake of the NSA leaks.  But power abuse isn’t only being exercised on a federal level, but on local levels also.  Law enforcement on all levels has been exuding a severe lack of discretion and has been over-exerting their authority. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided the home of Anonymous-faction leader Deric Lostutter, hacker moniker “KYAnonynous,” in April.  Lostutter led the KnightSec faction of the hacker group in the acquisition and distribution of tweets and photos of the assault and humiliation of the victim.  The faction took...

Republicans Are Crazy, Science Proves It

Politically conservative-minded people are more yielding than those who are more liberal-minded, a Gallup poll finds.  The study released by Gallup was placed in the frame of Republican and Democratic views of assisted suicide.  It found that a simple alteration of verbiage could easily alter a Republican’s opinion on an issue. This finding ultimately proves that Republicans piggyback their ideology on one another, perpetually stagnating any progressive thought and advancement in societal policy.    When assisted suicide was presented as “ending a patient’s life by some painless means” versus “suicide,” Republicans saw a greater deviation against Democrats in support...
