Int’l Aid Group Oxfam Calls Out U.S. for Perpetuating Int’l Violence and Rejecting Refugees
The aid group Oxfam has criticized the United States along with 5 other nations for encouraging violence and not doing enough to assist refugees in Syria. As AllGov.com reports: Oxfam singled out the U.S., Iran, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey for “fueling violence and violations for war in Syria through arms and ammunition transfers to parties to the conflict.” Along with the United Kingdom and Kuwait, the U.S. also was criticized for its “less than generous” offers “to welcome the most vulnerable refugees.” Oxfam claims the U.S. has resettled only 8% of its “fair share” of refugees.
