Stephen King’s Proposed Motto for Trump: “If You’re White, You’re All Right. Any Other Hue, I Don’t Trust You.”

It’s not often that political candidates get the honor of having a best-selling author come up with a campaign slogan for them. GOP front-runner (for the moment) Donald Trump has had three created for him by one of the greatest writers of all time, Stephen King – but one suspects the Trumpster won’t find them all that flattering. Stephen King, who started out writing pulp horror novels in the 1970s, became a serious literary figure on a par with Faulkner and Steinbeck with the publication of classics such as The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption. Many of his...

Huffington Post Declares Bernie Sanders Can Beat Hillary, the GOP, and Become President

Less than two months ago, even Bernie Sanders’ staunchest supports were saying “He’s a great candidate, but he’s not ‘electable.’” Today, we’re all changing our tune, as it becomes increasingly obvious that, given the current political landscape and polling trends, Sanders certainly can win the Democratic nomination. Considering that the GOP candidates are a motley crew of  has-beens, racists, misogynists, neo-fascists, theocrats and idiots, the outcome of the 2016 election is virtually a foregone conclusion.  In fact, H.A. Goodman with the Huffington Post reports Sanders coming out on top in almost every major poll. It turns out that the only...

Stock Market Crashed Yesterday with Huge Sell-Off of Media Stock: The Reality, Traditional Media is Dead!

With all due respect to Mark Twain, it appears that recent reports of traditional media’s death have in fact not been “greatly exaggerated.” If anything, they were understated. Yesterday, investors dumped their media stocks, confirming what we’ve known for some time: the mainstream corporate media is, for all practical purposes, dead as a door nail.  And they have nothing and no-one to blame but themselves. One of the reasons for the precipitous fall in the value of media stocks is a decline in cable subscriptions.  This trend should come as little surprise. For several years, cable subscribers have been...

Trump Humps GOP by Not Ruling Out 3rd Party Run

Donald Trump, current Republican front-runner, refuses to rule out the possibility of campaigning as an independent, third-party candidate. It would be the GOP’s worst nightmare come true. Quoting an unnamed “expert,” debate moderator Bret Baier said, “an independent run would almost certainly hand the race over to the Democrats and likely another Clinton.” In response, Trump equivocated. “I cannot say I have to respect the person that if it’s not me, the person that wins,” he said, reminding the room that he is currently favored to win the GOP nomination. However, he was quick to add, “I want to...

The GOP Loser Bracket Debate Highlights: “If We Can’t Start War Overseas, We Will Do it in America”

“Lower tier” GOP presidential candidates awarded the “consolation prize” of participating in a “Happy Hour” debate shared the stage a few hours ago. There wasn’t a lot of thought to their answers, however. Moderators started out by asking the candidates how they felt about Hillary Clinton. Answers ranged from the irrelevant (Rick Perry: “Good at email”) to the shallow (Linsdey Graham: “Not the change we need”) to the downright inaccurate (Bobby Jindal: “Socialist and government dependent”). There were no mention of the issues at all, or how the candidates distinguish their own positions from those of the former First...
