India Says ‘No’ To Zuckerberg, Strikes a Blow For Net Neutrality

This week, regulators in New Delhi established a rule prohibiting global telecoms in India from engaging in “differential pricing” – which is how internet gatekeepers like Comcast and Verizon hope to turn the World Wide Web into their own corporate fiefdoms, charging more for access to certain content and slowing – or even preventing – access to others. This is good news for internet users in India who will be guaranteed equal access to all websites regardless of their mode of connection. While an exception is made for “providing emergency services at times of grave public emergency,” Internet Service...

Bernie Sanders Responds to Albright’s Comments: “An Unfortunate Statement”

This past weekend, former Secretary of State Madeline Albright warned women voters about the dire consequences of failing to support Hillary Clinton. Specifically, Albright told them that there is a “special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” Her use of that specific phrase is not particularly surprising as she has been using it for years, but in this particular setting, it has a much more nefarious meaning. Her comments come in the wake of polls showing that younger women are abandoning Clinton and increasingly giving their support to Sanders. Bernie’s response: “I think that’s an...

Officer Robert Rialmo, who shot and killed 19-year old Quintonio LeGrier along with his neighbor, 55-year-old Bettie Jones this past December, has decided to sue LeGrier’s family for his own “emotional distress.” If this sickens you, you’re not alone. Bernie Sanders Calls Hillary Clinton’s Attacks “Laughable”

Hillary Clinton is definitely “feeling the Bern.” Her attacks on rival Bernie Sanders are becoming more frequent and their tone is getting more strident. She’s even sicced her husband Bill on Sanders. Today, the Sanders campaign responded to those attacks on his website. Here are a few of the highlights from that press release: “Bernie Sanders will not dismantle health care programs in America . . . He believes Planned Parenthood is an outstanding organization and wants to increase its funding. [He] is not ‘protecting’ the gun lobby. He has a D- record from the NRA.” He also addresses...

New Hampshire: No Surprise That Bernie Comes Out On Top for Dems – But Kasich for the GOP?

Most people outside of New Hampshire may not even have heard of the town of Dixville Notch. However, events there early this morning may have serious implications as the New Hampshire primary gets underway. It is in this remote hamlet near that Canadian border (current population: 12) that the first votes of the New Hampshire Primary have been made since 1960. The hands-down Democratic winner was Bernie Sanders, which comes as no surprise. However, the candidate who got the most GOP votes was someone we haven’t heard much about recently: Ohio governor John Kasich, who defeated Trump by a...
