Pap Attack: Democrats – Leave The South NOW!

I saw another one of those commentaries where the Democratic talking head is explaining how difficult it is for a Democrat to win down in the new Republican south.  Reorganization ideas like the Blue South Project pop up about every year with that new plan to reinvigorate Democrats in the solid red states like Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, South Carolina, Georgia – Seriously? Its not a complicated problem – just be patient, just wait – demographic shifts will be the only thing that reinvigorates Democrats in the South.  Racist, angry, old white men and women have to finally give up...

State Congressman Jason Villalba (R) introduced a bill to the Texas House yesterday that would make recording police officers a class B misdemeanor, the Houston Chronicle reported. When the CEO Pleads the Fifth

“Corporations are people, my friend.” – Mitt Romney, 2012 Indeed they are, for all legal intents and purposes, thanks to a generation of dismantling regulations limiting what corporations can spend to influence elections, the deal sealed and delivered by the U.S. Supreme Court’s now-infamous Citizens United decision.  Today, corporations claim the full range of human rights, though rarely are they called to account for human accountability. However, it should be kept in mind that in the end, a “corporate person” cannot exist nor function without natural humans to carry out the day-to-day tasks required to operate it – such...

Papantonio: Faulty Mesh Maims Thousands of Women

When I was a young lawyer, it used to amaze me when I saw the level of callous corruption that existed in product liability cases. Deliberate, conscious decision making by Madison Avenue types that want to sell a product they know will kill and cripple its users. It has been going on for decades. Simply put, there are no limits on the ugly disregard for decency we see within this new culture of quick-profit product manufacturers willing to trade your life for their financial bottom line. Just one of the hundred example we could talk about is transvaginal mesh....
